TERNA : 2nd. LOAD FORECASTING PROJECT WITH ALEASOFT.
Terna - Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA, has ordered AleaSoft (www.aleasoft.com) a second project for load forecasting in the Italian grid.
Terna is the Italian company in charge of electricity transmission throughout Italy, and became operative in November 2005 with the acquisition of the dispatching activities of GRTN.
This is the second project AleaSoft develops for Terna/GRTN. The first project was implemented during 2005, in GRTN, and was based on the supply of AleaHorario and AleaMid tools for hourly load forecasting in the short and mid term.
The objective of this second project is to reinforce TERNA forecasting area, and thus to improve the power system management & operation.
The new project is mainly focused on the development of forecasting models for:
- Peak load for national and regional demand.
- Real-time hourly forecasting.
- Market zones forecasting models.
New models to be supplied are based on AleaModels, AleaSoft own Neural Network, that outperforms traditional forecasting systems.
Forecasting models will be implemented in the new platform developed by AleaSoft for TSO's energy forecasting. The new platform, named "EnergyFore", offers a superior performance in terms of capabilities and flexibility.
This new contract reinforces the position of AleaSoft as a leading provider of robust and reliable forecasting tools.
